I did a search and have seen an answer to this question before but cant find it now so sorry to ask again. My wife is from a visa exempt county and we have just begun the outland application. If it takes a long time can she come to canada during the process say after 6-8 months in? If so for how long? she is from Taiwan. Ideally id like her to come 8-9 months in and wait here for her resident visa to be sent to her home in Taiwan. Thanks in advance for any replies.

One time entry could be up to for 6 months visit depending on the officer at the POE. Better she should show some evidence of documents - copy of sponsorship application of etc - to the officer.
