Me and my sweetheart are getting married (in Spring) and applying for PR after that.
Since I am living in Finland, my application goes through London. May I live in Canada with
my husband to be meanwhile I am waiting for my PR for about 6 months (without Visa) and then
travel to my country for some days (if needed)..or do I have to stay in Finland meanwhile the process
is going on?

It sounds like you want to do almost exactly what I am doing. Good for you! Cheesy

I have been with my husband in Canada for 11 months now (1 week interruption in June for honeymoon in the Caribbean) and am waiting for my PR.
I initially came here  before we got married, for 4― months, as we were thinking about a honeymoon in Europe back then. At customs they didn't ask whether I was getting married so I of course didn't tell them. They did send me to Immigration, probably because I was staying for months and was bringing my cat. I was eventually let in after asking me various questions (apparently my anbswers satisfied them) and making sure I did know I wasn't allowed to work or study.
We ended up not going to Europe on honeymoon, but having a honeymoon in the Caribbean a month after we got married. When we got back into Canada together after that, we showed them some wedding pictures and proof we were applying for my PR. The BO wearily waived us in.
I am in Canada uninterrupted for almost 6 months now, so the stamp in my passport is about to run out. So I applied for a visitor extension.

You are, like me,  from a visa exempt country so you can come to canada and stay here as a tourist for up to 6 months. After that - at least 30 days before your visitor status runs out - apply for an extension through regular mail. The processing of visitor extension applications through regular mail is pretty slow (4 to 5 months) and meanwhile you are on what is called "implied status". If the extension is granted you can stay for the amount of time they have given you on the extension. If needed, you can apply for another extension after that.

Thank you kindly for your reply!  Smiley

I thought that Iīd had to go outside Canada after that 6 months, thatīs why I planned
on travelling back "home" and then back to Canada again..but if I may prolong my visa after that,
thatīs fine! One problem is although that during that period I will not be able to be part of EHIP (or what
was the name of health care) and have to take a private insurance for me and my son and he wont be able
to go to school (have been looking at internet schools to do his 9th grade, thatīs is possible for him to do)..

Just arrived from Toronto, and this long distance is killing me! Now counting days til my sweetheart comes here after Christmas,
but this is a very pricy relationship, flying back and forth..although itīs worth every penny!

I just wish things could be a bit simple..that the PR could be done in 2 months and would start working etc at once!  Huh

Hello, it is not really necessary to go through requireing an extension of your current status. Shopping at Buffalo is pretty cheap nowadays! Entering from the States to Canada is easy, especially if done by car. I'm not saying they are careless. Of course that depends whether you reside near the border.
And yes, I have noticed that if you enter canada saying that you go to visit your husband, immigration is peanuts. Undecided Lips sealed way better than visiting your boyfriend  Roll Eyes that's my own experience, with a pp that doesn't require visa.

Answering your question, in my opinion, it is better if you go in and out of the country for a while. Remeber that immigration has the right (obligation!) to restrict your entrance if they suspect that you will remain in the country indeffenetely or the purpouse of your visit is otherwise stated. Remember, people, you don't want your process to be jeoparized!
