Hi guys, Today I received another letter from CIC with this:
After reviewing your file it is noted that we are missing the following information:
-Medical examination
-Right of Permanent Fee $490,00.
I'm not sure, if I have to do again because it's expired, or if is missing this document on my file?! Also they sent (Medical Report : Section A) with my photo, i dont know what to do!?!
Another question is if they asking for a Right of Permanent Fee that means I got approved in the second stage? Because As far I know this Fee ($490,00)has to be paid in the land day, correct?

You will need to pay the Right of Permanent Fee (490$) beforehand as it needs to be paid before they can issue you the visa. As per your medical, it's valid for a year from the date of examination.

Can't tell you how long it will take.  Every case is different.  They have my husband's passport for the last 4 months and still no visa.  You just have to be patient and wait out a bit.  They might also ask you to go for an interview. Good luck.

Wow I would think that they would only need your passport to stamp and send back. What if your hubby needs to travel unexpectedly? What happens then? They shouldn't keep passports that long.

Hi everybody.
I sent our complete application from Canada May 6th 2012. No word from CIC yet. Not even receipt of payment. My wife is Filipina and I have seen the processing times on the CIC website as 8 months. Is this accurate? Our application is straight forward. No children and no previous marriages. I have spoken with other couples who have sponsored and heard as little as 3 to 4 months.
Any info is good.
Cheers.

Thanks for that even though its not the news I was hoping for. I wonder how long it takes for CIC to approve 1 sponsorship application? Not the whole application just to verify that the sponsor is eligible to be a sponsor.
I'm going back to the Philippines in October this year and hoping my wife will have her visa by then.

It used to be a matter of 6 to 8 weeks but now it seems roughly 3 months.....hoping the time declines for all new applicants......my app was sent in Feb 28th....got an AOR by email June 14th and Friday the 22nd late after noon when I checked the ecas website under sponsor it said "decision made" a letter was mailed on June 20th...hoping the letter reaches me this week.....I am sure I am approved but won't feel 100% till I have that paper in my hand.....it has been pretty much close to 4 months for my approval Sad

Where did you submit to? Which visa office asked for your passport? It all depends on the VO, but the first stage is 89 days. How did you get a reply already? It's only been 5 days?

Okay now I understand Smiley

manila is currently averaging 8 months, so considering it has been three so far, you have probably another 3 or 4 months. But hopefully sooner! If it goes past the 8 months that it says on CIC website, call the call centre. Good luck! Smiley

I believe they will be looking over your application and checking your travel history with your passport. You're basically waiting for visa, but no guarantees that you'll be approved.
