Thanks Leon. One question My Husband being a canadian Govt employee..will that not be an additional brownie point to get the visa less than Six months??? We really want to unite with him fast. We have taken he outland method too.

I haven't seen it anywhere on the CIC website that Canadian government employees get preferential treatment but you never know.  However, that goes for him as a sponsor so that would be the first 2 months of the process in Mississauga.  I don't think it will make your background checks any faster that he is a government employee.  There are certain things they have to check.

My husband is a gov't employee and I'm still waiting on my visa office. Get in line like everyone else. There isn't any preferential treatment going through this immigration process.

Well I got approved to sponsor. Which is all good but checking the status online isn't working for me. What's up with that?!  Anyone know? Been approved a month ago-ish.

There's no minimum. You can sponsor your wife right away.

Hello everyone,

Just a quick question : my application hasn't yet started to be processed and although I received via email the notification that they received it, I cannot use the online tools to notify them that I changed the address and the job (I tried and it doesn't work)

The call center is extremely useless as you never can get in touch with them, cant even wait on hold, its just hanging up on you and i dont have time all day to sit by the phone and call.

What should i do ?

Should i contact the office in my home country ?

Or should i wait for the application to start being processed ?

I went in person and changed my address on my Identity Card so it should be in the system anyhow, right ?

Same as the job...

I'd appreciate a lot any advice on this matter, thank you so much and all the best.

It varies in cost, I would say around 200-500 depending on the doctor, ask them when you make the appointment.
Yes it is, but you also need at least 4 pictures.

Greetings to you all!

I hope this is the right place to ask this question. This is concerning Appendix C and medical exam for my spouse (USA permanent resident) whom I'm sponsoring.

1. Does anyone know how much does the medical exam cost (she has no healthcare/insurance coverage)?
2. Is Appendix C the only document she needs to bring to the Designated Medical Practitioner?

Many thanks,

Joseph & Magnolia

Dear All, Need ur suggestions
As, we have recently approved as sponsor and now my spouse wants to come to India for 1 month.
But someone told us that my sponsor should wait till further communication from CIC or ND-CHC regarding our application (may be they call us for an interview)
Kindly tell if we would call for an interview will they (CIC) interview my sponsor in Canada (can they interview over phone if sponsor is in India)? And what if my sponsor come to India?
Really confuse about what to do, as my sponsor wants to come to India to meet me, should we wait or continue with our plans?

Any suggestions PLEASE

If the sponsor is a Canadian citizen, then go ahead and visit India for a month.

If the sponsor is a Canadian permanent resident, the trip should not be longer than 2-3 weeks. (To qualify as a sponsor, a Canadian permanent resident must be living in Canada for the entire processing time of the sponsorship application.)
