My idea is that is always better to include it in the application. are u applying outland or inland? if outland, which visa office?

I am in Edmonton. My spouse is in Egypt, so the visa office in Cairo. I just wasnt sure cus i thought i read a visa will be issued up until a year from the medical and the application process is like 12 months through Cairo. So that kinda makes no sense. It was just from a board post not the immigration canada website. Anyhow I'd rather send it all ASAP & @ once. Just to get this over with. But the cost of the medical is hella expensive all the sudden, and he'd rather not pay for it twice.
Also if anyone with this experience wants to connect on msn messenger would be cool to help me out in real time...ill put my info on the profile. Thnx.

I understand your frustrations about the possibility of paying twice for medicals in case they ask you to. also outland medicals are rarely extended. but i want to tell you that the average processing times put on the CIC website are always a bit inflated. the best you could do is to do a medical just a few days before sending the application so that that medicals would be valid for the whole lenght of the application. Good luck!!!

Hi Ramandaman, have you landed? Could you please share how long it took for the Kitchener office to contact you for a landing interview appointment?

1. I have received pr and the girl to whom i want to marry is also finalized, but i know i cant marry right now as i have to land once in canada before marrying before landing. so is it fine if she applies for visitor visa and flys with me in canada togather for few days where in i can complete the landing process and pr card process and as well we can have short honeymoon ?? once i return then i can register my marriage and get the marriage certificate. Hope its fine.
2. Then i can go again after few months for processing the spouse visa and after doing the process for spouse visa, do i need to remain in canada till the visa gets approved or can i go back to india and when she receive the visa we both can fly togather. is it possible? or do i need to remain in canada till she gets spouse visa??? Hope as she had visited with me on visitor visa it would not affect the process of spouse visa as we were not married at that time. it would not be considered as misrepresentation of facts?
Thanks in advance

If she gets a visitor visa, she can come with you to Canada when you land. You are not misrepresenting any facts by landing on a single PR visa when you are still single. The girlfriend is not your common law or your wife so you can not include her in your application anyway. If you want, you can get married in Canada and then you apply to sponsor her without either of you going back to India. As a PR, you must be living in Canada to be able to sponsor a spouse so if you go back with her to India to get married, you must return to Canada to do the sponsorship and stay in Canada. If immigration checks up and finds that you are not in Canada, they can refuse your sponsorship application.

Who has said that? As far as I know, there is no change in processing times. What you may be referring to is that immigration is planning on giving PR status to sponsored spouses on a temporary basis for 2 or 3 years. If the relationship breaks down during that time, the sponsored spouse may lose their PR again. These new rules are similar to what many other countries are doing, including the US.

Yes, you can apply for a visit visa while you have an immigration application in process.
