Hi

Would really appreciate your help.

I sent the application to the CIC Mississauge as I'm doing spousal sponsorship from Canada for my spouse that lives outside Canada.

My question is....first of all when I paid for the fee ($550)...on it asked for my Client Id...I figured I don't have it so I left it blank....did I do that right?

Also, will I get a letter or an email or something to let me know that they have received my application and that they are starting to work on it?

Thanks so much!

1. Yes - you did the right thing by leaving that field blank.

2. No - they will not send an email or letter confirming they have recieved the application and have started working on it. You won't hear from them until the have finished their part of the processing and the sponsor has been approved.

Interviews are waived for many applicants, except in cases where the bona fides of the relationship are in question, or other situations exist that warrant a face to face meeting with the applicant to clarify matters (documentation, e.g.).

The specifics of your situation with your spouse will determine whether she will be convoked for an interview.  Without any details, no-one can say whether she will or won't.

Before the visa is issued you will have to pay the Right of Permanent Resident Fee of $490

well if i need to pay that...I guess the question becomes.....how do I sent them the payment?

I don't have client ID yet....do I just pay the extra fee and mail to them or wait for them to ask for it?

Thank you! I appreciate your help !

Make the payment same way you did the initial fees.  Advise CPC-M by sending a copy of the receipt here:

RPRF payments or other correspondence:
CPC Mississauga
P.O. Box 6100, Station A
 Mississauga, ON
 L5A 4H4

And advise the visa office handling the application by sending them a fax copy.

If you wait for it to be requested, it could add at least 2 months to your processing time (maybe more).  If you pay it before it is requested, you can avoid that additional waiting time.

pls dont bother paying for pr fee now. the is not need for it as they will have to request ur passport anyway when you are approved for visa and at that time you will be required to pay the $490 visa fee. so dont put yourself in a situation where u will have to go throug the hassle of getting your money back when you are denied sponsorship or visa. just wait.

Yes thank you

I called they said I have to wait for them to ask for it.

Another question to whoever can answer.....will anything be affected if during the time of the application process I get laid off and go on EI?
Am I allowed to go on EI or no?

Thanks!

EI is not social assistance, you are required to pay into the programme for a certain amount of time before you can access it.  It will not affect your eligibility to sponsor if you need to access EI.
