Marriage/relationship isn't genuine.

Include as much proof as you can that demonstrates the marriage/relationship is real.

noooo cpc-m dont make the sponsorship approval they approve the person doing the sponsoring...

they look to make sure u r not in reeipt if welfare, bankrupt not discharged, criminal background, ur status in canada if u legal, income( but really there is no minimum requirement within reasons), cpc-m approves or deny based on a checklist found on the website
the processing cisa application reviews it for evidence and they check for marriage of convenience not cpc-m

i wished cpc-m did as they seem to process much faster than the outer office

Good catch!!! I completely missed the CPC-M bit (need more coffee) and thought this was a general sponsorship question.

As far as I know, a PR can sponsor a spouse right away (provided they havent just been sponsored by a spouse/common law partner)
As a PR, you have to reside in Canada to sponsor someone.

and u need to be in Canada while the sponsorship is in process; u cannot just go and wait with ur spouse/partner for the process to finish; CIC could ask for updates and new proofs about ur Canadian residency during the process (apt rent, filling taxes, bank accounts, etc)...u could go for short vacations but for a PR the Canadian residency is very important

other reasons the 1st stage might be rejected:

1. criminal record
2. if u apply as common-law make sure there is the cohabitation requirements, otherwise they will reject on the basis that u do not qualify for the common-law class
3. if u declare u were in relationship with ur spouse/partner while ur PR was in process but u didn't update them then they will not let u sponsor this person (in the immigration files u should have updated ur status as married/common-law and declared ur partner); if the relationship started after u became PR, then no problem

Hi,how do you define 'declare relationships'(do people go to some organizations and officially disclose the relationship?)
Since me and my husband were living together on and off before we've got married, he usually lived with his family in Toronto when we were dating, so we did not declare common-law relationship when I filed my PR application, and I've got my PR, then we married.
Will that be any problem if I sponsor him in the near future? Thank you!

No...u were not married nor in common law before u landed...living together on off is not common law...u need to be living together continuously for at least one year...also ur status was single and it chnaged to married after u landed, right? same for him?
(some people don't know, they get married before they leave their country to land in canada and they don't update CIC...in this case they cannot sponsor in the future)

declare would mean when: u fill taxes, apply for sin card, medicare, driver license, update ur immigration file, anything related to the gouverment outside or inside canada, do u check the single box or the married one?

Missmini, thanks for your reply, we got married after I landed, we've been together for 5 years and filed tax separately before we got married...
He is not a PR yet and didn't focus on getting one when I filed my application, but Im going to sponsor him after we've been married for three yrs.

may i ask why the wait for 3 years sometimes a wait so long can work for and against you as they would question(per some of their appeals) why would someone in a genuine marriage not want to reunite... so why the wait 3 years if you are a PR in canada u can apply the 730 days out of 5 years is so u can keep your status it doesnt mean u have to wait 3 years to get married just a thought
