Hi,

I will not be able to comply with the minimum stay of 2 years out of the five years. Because of my personal reasons I was out of Canada for 4 years. But now I am back and planned to settle down. I just got the job and I am planning to sponsor my spouse.

Will this affect the sponsorship application. If I mention the facts in the application I will be out of PR Status. How would I proceed? Do I have to mention that I was not in the country for so long? Will CIC ask the proof of my stay here.  Please advice. I don't know how to proceed.

Thank you.
Van

Where are you?  You know that as a PR you can only sponsor your spouse while you are residing in Canada.  So the first thing you would need to do is get back into Canada and it doesn't look like you can do that without having your PR validity reviewed.   Unless you are one of the few lucky ones who squeaked by CBSA unnoticed.

I am in Canada now. Yes I was able to enter in to Canada without any issue.

Please advise with your expert suggestions..
