Hello everyone,

I would like to sponsor my mother who live in France. Unfortunately my mother has a cancer. She can benefit the French healthcare but she is alone and can't stay by herself anymore. Statistics say, she has no more than two years to live and she would like to live these two last years with her granddaughter.
Do you know if there is anyway she can be accepted and how long it would take to get her sponsorship ?

If you have any clue this would be appreciated as well.

Thank you

Parent sponsorship for Frances takes 48 months (4 years) to finalise stage one (they are currently working on applications received Sep 11, 2007) and a further 21 months (3 months short of 2 years) for Paris.  That's a total of almost 6 years if you apply now.

You say "statistically, she has no more than 2 years to live", but the truth is you can't know where your mother will fall in those statistics.  Further, because she has a potentially terminal illness, it will be difficult (if not impossible) for her to overcome the medical inadmissibility rules pertaining to family members.  The medical demand created by cancer patients can be in the tens of thousands per year, in dollar terms.  You will need a very favourable medical assessment in order for her not to be excluded by those rules.
