Hello everyone, I ve been sponsored from quebec in the family class.  is it true that the waiting time is shorter than the other provinces in Canada. Since they're treating October 2010 application. is it possible that those applying from quebec are ahead ? Any info is apprecciated . Thanks

Are you doing an inland or outland application, and if the latter, which visa office? The major difference for Quebec is that it requires a CSQ.

I`m in no position to answer that, unfortunately. You should post in the inland thread - http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/-t67267.0.html. All I can tell you is that an inland application almost always takes longer than an outland one (it varies by visa office that you compare it to, and of course, by case), and takes even longer if the person being sponsored is not a spouse, common law spouse, or conjugal partner. Right now the inland applications are taking about 10 to 11 months to get to Approval in Principal, which is the same as `first stage approval`, or to compare it to outland cases, the sponsorship approval.

No they are not handled faster but they are not longer neither. approximate timeline for an inland application within quebec is about 12-15 months(don't trust too much the timelines that they give you on the CIC website). i received 1 st and 2 nnd stage together after about 10 months and i will be landing the day after tomorrow at approximately 14 months after i sent the application but in my case could have been faster because they made mistakes at the end and they sent my application to the wrong local office....

Get some more postings (I don`t recall the number but around 10-20 allows you to use this function), go to `Profile`up top, then `Forum Profile Information`.
