My husband's medicals have been received and now he just received an email stating that an interview will be required...is this good news?

Unless you've requested a landing interview it's not really good news, I'm afraid. What it would mean is that the CIC is dissatisfied with the quality of the evidence you've supplied about your relationship and that they want to interview your husband to make sure that the relationship is true and lasting. If your relationship is true he should have no problem passing, but it does add time to the process.
