Sponsoring parents. Co-signer withdraws after the sponsor was approved.

I am very concered regarding the current situation with sponsorship of my parents.
I applied for sponsorship in 2007. My ex-husband was a co-signer, because I did not have enough income then. We divorced in 2010, but he did not withdraw his application. In August 2011 I was approved as a sponsor. Now my ex-husband wants to withdraw his application.
So, the question is: if he withdraws his application now, can I be a sponsor, providing that I did not have sufficient income for the last year?Thank you for your help!

If your ex husband withdraws and you do not make enough money by yourself, I think that is the end of your application.  I do however understand your ex wanting to do this because if your parents arrive and at some point have to go on disability or welfare, he is responsible for half of their bill for 10 years after they get their PR.

If you could offer immigration that you are now making enough money by yourself, it would be ok for your ex to withdraw.

I do earn enough money, however, I started my job only 4 month ago.
Do I need to provide my income for 12 months period?

Can you convince him not to withdraw his sponsorship until you have been at the new job for a year?  It is not like he has to worry about your parents getting PR any time soon because these applications take a long time to process.

I will try. I also found from the CIC website that we have to notify them about any change in our marital status.
Is it illegal not to do so at this point?

Yes but if you tell them now that you are divorced, they will disqualify him anyway because a co-sponsor can only be your spouse and now he is your ex.  Since you didn't tell them in 2010 that you divorced, you might as well wait another few months and then tell them that you are divorced and that you are the sole sponsor now and do have the income to do it at the same time.

Hi Elena, Leon

I really hope that it worked out for you. I am in the same situation now.
My parents' papers are already in Buffalo for about 3 weeks.
Me and my husband are not divorced yet and are still leaving together, but are going through a rough patch.
I am working for 1 year and will be able to proof that I have $42k income for the year 2011.
He is saying that he wants to withdraw his application. I just got off the phone with CIC Mississauga and they said that in order to become a Single Sponsor I had to had the required income by myself throughout the whole application (4+ years), which I did not have at that time.

Elena: Could you please let me know who it worked out for you, where you parents granted Landed staus or not?
I would really really appreciate your help.

Leon: Can you please guide me as to where I can find the link or any information on it? CIC call center agent just told me the opposite.
