Hi,

I also got married last week in Morocco and I am planning to sponsor my wife to join me in Vancouver under Spouse Sponsorship Program. I already received the sponsorship application form from Citizenship Canada. Eventhough I understood everything required, I have a question about the marriage certificate "l'acte de marriage" I have obtained here in Morocco. It is in Arabic and I understand that I have to translate it to French or English. Do I do the translation in Morocco or shall I wait till I return to Canada and use a certified Translator accredited by the Canadian Government.

Please advise at your earliest convenience!

Thanks!

Hi,

Welcome, we had our marriage certificate translated into French in Morocco because  it was quick and really inexpensive. You do not need to have it done here in Canada, I think it's your choice.
