In all honestly, I really think you are trying too hard, and going to hit a brick wall whichever way you try.  Once they see that you are her spouse, you are traveling together, and that you are returning to Canada so you can sponsor her, there is maybe a 1% chance that you will be approved.  If you do get a transit visa or something along that idea, and she leaves the airport to stay with you, she will not be in Canada legally, as she was only supposed to use it for a layover.  Therefore when you go to apply to sponsor her, she will not have legal status.

Your best bet is to unfortunately as the saying goes "bite the bullet" return to Canada, and apply, and wait for the process to be over so you can be together as a family.  This is how many people have to do it.

I am really sorry to put it to you that way, but...people have been pretty much saying the same thing, but not so blunt..

I really wish you luck through this process, its hard, and there are so many people who have been in your situation, and it does suck, my husband and I were separated for a year after getting married and he is a US citizen, now that was due to medical issues and the like preventing the payment of fees for a bit, but still, I can relate to not being with your spouse...
