Sponsoring husband from Morocco

Good morning everyone,

As my husband wrote they called him this morning and he has an interview date for March 3rd. They followed the call with an email asking that he bring with him photos, correspondence and they also asked that I provide confirmation of residency in Canada, has anyone been asked this? I am not sure what they require, my passport info? my citizenship card?

I am here in Morocco until Feb 25th visiting my husband so unfortunately I will not be with him on the date of the interview but am now very hopeful that all will go well and he will be home with me before the end of March;

Hello Raven, yes my husband was ask to to show my residency so i send him my cable and hydro bill before his intertview, my lawyer told me to do that.
And want everybody to know that my lawyer got a call from IAD and our ADR hearing is sceduled for June 19 2008 it is not very close but at least we not have to wait for 10 months for our full hearing.
We could not get a better Valentine's gift.

To those who were asked of proof of residency for their Sponsors, could you tell me if you are Born Canadian, A naturalized Canadian, or a permanent resident? I was just wondering is this is a factor when they make that request at the Embassy.

I had to prove my Residency to obtain my CSQ

Thank you for your kind words, it's great to be here in Morocco while my husband got the call, too bad I have to leave before the interview date.

Hoping: I am a Canadian Citizen. I now know what kind of information they require from me and thats easy to provide. I just don't have it with me here but can easily send when I return.

Hi everyone,
My husband Youness and I were just married on January 21st, 2008 in Morocco and I am sending in all of our paperwork next week (just waiting on my last Notice of Assessment to arrive as I needed a copy).  We met 1 year before we got married and have spent 6 weeks in Morocco together total after 2 visits.  We talk daily on msn or on the phone for hours.  We love each other very much and hope to be together as quickly as possible.  Can anyone give me a run down of things the CIC might ask for that they do not specify in the application?

Only advise I can give you is to show a lot of prove of your relationship before you were married. In my case we did not meet before our marriage and the officer use that to refuse my husband. So if you had trips to your husband before marriage try to get all the tickets and hotel reservations. and pictures showing you and your husband but also his relatives with you two together.

Pictures our a lot of help. If you can date them and make notes on the back to explane what is it on the picture.
