Hi Everyone
I was just catching up reading all the posts. When we got our call for our interview i was in morocco. It was a wednesday. And it was the following week our interview was scheduled just a week after the phone call. They also asked us to bring more information like chats,phone bills more wedding pics with other family members in the pics. I sent pics but with just us but they wanted proof that family members were there to. Mostly all the same stuff i allready sent to them. We just copied them and he brought them to the interview the only thing different he brought was more pics of wedding with the family in them. When you leave that interview you will have a good idea if they believe you or not. Ask them alot of questions about if you were accepted or not. I am sure everyone will get a call soon.

Take Care

Hi all,

Wow the chat has been busy these past few days, here's what Boras and I do, we chat on skype every day and sometimes on MSN as well and those conversations aren't logged, but we also send tons of emails back and forth. Plus, I like to send cards, notes and have even sent gifts .....well because I'm a sentimental romantic but also because he can keep the envelopes as proof to bring to the interview.

Yasmina, do you send each other ecards? jokes? etc...those are emails he could print.

I sent the wedding pics in with the application as well, but I also made a book (gift for his mom) of every photo I ever took while there as a keepsake for her of my visit with them but I told him it may be a good idea to bring the book with him as he doesn't have printed copies of our pics either. My only worry is that we had about 70 guests at our wedding and there are a few group shots but there's no pic of every single attendee (as a group). There were 3 packed rooms of people plus the terrace, how do you get everyone into one pic? So, at most the group pics I have are with about 10/15 people.

 We have a 2 hour video of the entire wedding day which I would love to show them but in the application it states that they won't accept that so I highly doubt they would want to see that at the interview process.

I'm really not stressing about "evidence" of a real relationship, I'm just annoyed they are so slow in getting in touch, even though it's within their time line....just not within mine :) argg...want my husband home already.

Cheers,
Raven

Hi Raven:
I read your post ,  you seem to  be  worried about not been able to show the interviewers the wedding video.
Here  is a link to a  software you can use  to produce  still photos.  I hope  it  will help you to  get more photos  for the  interview.

http://www.topdrawerdownloads.com/download/104617

Yasmina : you can use this software too to get  more photos from your video.

To  Yasmina and the rest of you who  are using  skype as a way  of communication, skype will only keep the last 6 months of records.

Abdellatif;
That's great news about the interview!! Congratulations and thanks for letting us know the news on your application.  It gives me hope that we too are moving through the process and soon we will hear more news from the Embassy. My husband and I will be interested in what the interview process is like - please let us know how things go for you.  I found a website (provided by someone on this website) that has some example interviews questions for the family class.  I don't know how accurate or reliable this information is, but it might be useful:  http://www.ece.ualberta.ca/~jgill/documents/immi/interview_S_F_class.pdf

I sent you an email to your canadavisa.com inbox - hopefully you have recieved it. I think I will unhide my email address for members so people can contact me directly.

Cindy;
I replied to your email awhile ago and added you to my msn.  I haven't seen you online but I'd be happy to provide you with more information on the marriage process if you like (and what you may need for your application). I wish i had come across this forum much earlier in our process -- it certainly is a great resource for all those questions that naturally come up.

Penny;
Thanks for getting this thread started - it certainly has been great connecting with everyone in various different stages of this crazy process of long-distance relationships/marriages. It's not easy as i'm sure everyone can agree on, but it certainly is worth it. One of the hardest parts for me is not having any control over what happens in this immigration process - and it affects THE most important part of my life (my partner). Let's just say I never new what patience meant until now (and there are others on this website that have been waiting for much longer).

All the best to everyone, keep in touch and it's great to be able to help each other out.

Tracy

Hi All,

I am really worried about something and just wanted to see how everyone else's experience was.

I received my sponsorship approval letter on October 26, 2007.  But to date, my husband has not received a letter from Rabat saying that they have received our documents in Rabat.  How long did your husbands/wives have to wait to get this letter?

Thanks,
Becca

Hey Becca,

I received my sponsorship approval on Aug 30th, my husband received his letter on Sept 14th. The letter said they received the application on Sept. 7th.

Hope he gets his letter soon,

Becca,
don't worry, we got our sponsorship approval Aug. 11 and our acknowledgement  letter from the embassy didn't come until Sept. 10th, although it was dated Aug. 16th.  give it some more time before you worry.

Raven,
I don't believe you need one photo with everyone in it from the wedding.  I think there were about 100 people coming and going from our "fete" and there's no possible way we could get everyone in one shot.  I believe it's more a matter of just having a variety of photos with various family members.
We made copies of our skype talks the first time so we will do that again for the interview for sure.

Kelly, thanks for sharing your timing experience!  That's four couples I've heard of now who all had less than 2 weeks notice before the interview.  It's good to have an idea since I need to send my husband some stuff by mail and you know how long that can take sometimes!
hopefully there will be another person with good news on here soon....

About the photos, well they dont look at them carefully at all. The guy asked me a stupifying question at the interview. He said i mentioned in my application that there were more than fifty people in the wedding ceremony but he cant seem to find them in the pictures! Can you beleive that? I said I cant get all fifty people in one photograph. so I had to show him from the pictures i sent to them earlier about number of people but still they didnt count up to fifty. So I said to him why dont u look the CD of our wedding ceremony which I have brought with me and you can count fifty people in them i guess. But the idea didnt appeal to him and please dont take pictures of your close relatives more than one. he might say why people are keep repeating in the pictures, which he actually did say to me during interview. I said there are my close family members offcourse they will be in more than one picture since they were standing and sitting beside groom and bride. I must mention I am applying from Islambad. Maybe the visa officers are not like that in other places. but just wanted to share my experience about photographs. I sent more than 50 photos of me and my wife with all the family members during wedding ceremony and in general too. But what a shame I couldnt capture all fifty of them that were invited!

I am so dissapointed today. I was expecting for the updated times for the sponsorship approval to include my date today. Last week it showed that the applications were processed through the 17th of Oct and 38 days. Today it still shows the 17th of Oct, and now it is 44 days. That means that there as at least another week added to my sponsorship time.
     Does anyone know if this is usual for the time to get longer and the completed date not to advance?
 I really was looking forward to some good news today. I miss my Husband so much, and to see things taking longer is very painful.
  I really wish the best for everyone that is waiting. May you get good news very soon.
