Thank you everyone for your well wishes!!  Cheesy

Hubby called this morning right after he was done the interview. He was asked what language he preferred to be interviewed, he told them English. The woman who interviewed him is from Quebec. It didn't take long and they asked questions of my family, his family, our relationship etc. They also asked, I feel trying to trick him, why it took so long to file the application if we got married in Jan. 2009 Shocked ? He right away told her: We didn't get married then, we finally met for the first time face to face in 2009! She had our application open in front of her asking questions from there. She typed everything on the computer as he answered. In the end she gave all our paperwork back & suggested he get an updated medical because his expires in Feb. And of course the: we will contact you with our decision.

Sooooo again waiting waiting waiting *fingers crossed* inshallah  Smiley

They asked him if he wanted it in Arabic or French. Since we speak mainly English with one another he told them he wanted it in English.

Yes, the choices are French, Arabic or English as I understand it....my husband is more fluent in speaking English than standard or classic Arabic. So he chose English too....yet at the first interview, the interviewer kept reverting to French... He was pretty irritated. Lol!

Just because the interviewer asks in French doesn't mean he has to respond in French, assuming of course his listening comprehension is better than his oral conversation abilities (it's totally normal to be able to understand but not be able to express yourself in response- passive vs. active knowledge of the language). I can see how he was irritated though.

My husband's language is actually Tamazight. He also speaks classic Arabic, French and English. He has been speaking the four languages since a young age so he is quiet fluent in all of them.

The interviewer is from Quebec. She didn't have difficulty speaking to him in English.

I think it's awesome that your husband is so educated that his native language is Berber and yet he speaks the two other main languages in Morocco, plus English. My mother-in-law can't read or write in Moroccan and can't speak any other languages.

Did your husband have to wait around all that time??

I am curious to know if they give a date AND time or just a Date to be there and you have to wait till you are called?
