I don't want to damper the "instincts" thread here but let me just say, I can quote word for word everything you ladies just said about your husbands. I loved him, adored his family, spent every waking moment talking to him, laughing, planning for a future together, cursing immigration...etc. etc...
It only took a few months after his arrival in Canada for him to show me his true self. You do not know someone until you live with them. I know of a lot of mixed couples (Moroccan/Canadian) and the ones I see that are still together lived together (in Morocco) and got to really know each other. Sadly I know more couples that are no longer together, all for very different reasons. I am not the one that's going to come on this board and say anyone scammed me about anything. I knew what I was doing, I listened to everyone's advice and I did what I wanted to do. Life goes on, marriages fail...it does not define who I am at all. Yes he is in Canada but I got the better end of the deal, I wouldn't live my life the way he lives his.....ever.
All the best.
I am quite sorry to hear about your loss, grief and disappointment. What happened exactly? If you don't mind me to ask. No need to answer if you prefer not to talk about it.

Im sorry to know that you had to go through this, and you are right to say that you do not know the real person unless you live with them. And its always better to be wronged that wrong someone. You can live with a clear conscience at the end of the day. Good Luck

He lived outside of Morocco for too long and he didn't pick up anything good from that experience, I will PM you.

Thank you BettyPage for sharing your story with me. It is a rough one and you seem to be quite strong and wise.
I know that we don't completely know our husbands. And they don't know us completely. You have to be with a person for at least a year to have an idea of how he or she is. And 5 years to have a stronger idea. Even in a lifetime, you don't completely know a person.
I expect my husband won't exactly be the same person he was when I went visiting him. I mean he is a devoted muslim, he has received a very good education and beautiful values from his family and he is a person who is happy with the few things he have. I could say his biggest qualities are patience and endurance. Always smiling and soft manners. And serious and profound despite his young age.
The opposite is true and I told him. He NEVER saw me living the life I live in Canada. All he saw was a relaxed happy woman on vacation. Here in Canada, I juggle with 3 jobs, my son, my dog and a house. He will see/face things about me he won't like. He will see that I won't exactly behave the same way I was behaving in Morocco lol
So, he will have to make lots of adjustments. It is not obvious to live and work in another country. It might affect him in a way. It would for me if I had to live in a different world.
What an adventure! I never expected one day to get married again. For 9 years, I stayed away from relationships and I was quite content with my work and my son. And my mind was set: never again I will be in a relationship and I was in peace with my decision. God knows what is best for me and with my husband I have been learning to be a better person.
As I said I never thought/wished that one day I would get married again and here I am... I did not choose the easiest road lol

I just talked to my husband on the phone. He just had interview at the visa office of Rabat.
I think we will be refused. I feel just like crying. The interview lasted 40 minutes and the officers did not want our emails or pictures even though my husband wanted to give them.
They told him they must do a criminal investigation, something about security. My husband laughed at that as he did nothing wrong and he told them. They said the investigation will take 4 to 6 months.
They told him that there are 2 possibilities. He might get a refusal letter in 2 months or a acceptance letter in 4 to 6 months. The husband whose wife is also in Canada who passed an interview before my husband was told there are 99% chances he will get his visa.
Even though I feel quite low and depressed, my husband said he has a good feeling. He answered very well the questions.
Since when they mention a criminal investigation in an interview??? What do you think? Is it normal procedures?
