I didn't keep calling them. Actually, I called them 2 times. One was 3 days ago, and the other was last week. I just said my name (with my married last name) and asked to find out information about my husband's application. The person who answered transfered me to an automated system that spoke only french. I hung up after that because I had no idea what it was saying. Anyways, my husband called them too, and even his family too. I don't exactly know what happened there... But yeah, maybe get your spouse to call or family members. But don't overdo it.

There is one difference from my application compared to everyone else's... I've known my husband since I was 14 years old... And after 7 years we got married. So all the evidence like journal entries, emails and phone calls we all printed and sent to them too. So that also could make a difference. As well, my husband and I are 3 years apart, I'm the youngest. I'm sure there was another post when a male canadian was sponsoring his husband. It also took him the same amount of time as well. Except she received a call on June 6 and was to pick up the visa on June 26 with no interview. I think that was in 2010 though...

My husband received a phone call from immigration today. They just asked him what he was doing in 2007 and then she said thank you and hung up. I was wondering if anybody got a call like this and if it means he will be able to come soon. My sisters husband got a call like this when they were going through this process as well and it was near 7 months when he got his visa. I really do hope it means something. My husband wants me to send some type of information to the office in rabat to let them know about our new baby but I just got his birth certificate sent to my mailbox instead of picking it up today. What other piece of information might work instead of a birth certificate. I think I only have his health number as identification.

That's good news I guess! It means they are looking at his application!  I am curious to know when Rabat received your application as there is no info on your profile....

Rabat received our papers March 10th and I think things are going by fast at the immigration office but I'm not so sure I wrote in my additional details letter that I was pregnant and when I'm expecting.. that might help with our process.

So I'm looking for plane tickets... And I'm making sure that I do this right. So there's a flight from Casablanca to Montreal to Toronto to Edmonton... Is this okay for him to have 2 stops: Montreal -> Toronto -> Edmonton? Or does he have to get like a direct flight? I live in Edmonton and I know for sure that there's no direct flights here...

Next month it will be my 3rd trip to Morocco and I don't think there are direct flights.  When I go there or when I return, I always have a stopover either Montreal or Toronto or the States and then another stopover either in Paris, Amsterdam, London or Frankfurt.  It is always 2 stops.

What I mean is for my husband when he comes here. I know he has to go through whatever step he needs to do at the airport... So if he has like... 2 stops and then lands in Edmonton, would that in anyway affect him? Lol. I'm so confusing myself right now.

I know for a fact that if he was to come here and he had to fly from paris to london that is not allowed... So it can be like from Paris to Montreal. Does that make sense?

I went to one just to get the best route...now granted I finish in Toronto...but maybe they can tell you if there is a flight from paris to Edmonton direct...

Now that said...that is leaving from Rabat and not Casa. Is this a possibility for him?

No not at all. I am going through a travel agent. She has him flying from casablanca to montreal to toronto to edmonton... This is the cheapest flight. I'm willing to pay more, it's just that from casablanca to montreal he's riding in air maroc, and they seem to land like at 18:00 in Montreal, so he doesn't have many choices for flights within canada. I'm not really looking to book a flight through Europe. What I'm worried about is about his "landing." And if him having to stop at 2 cities before he arrives to his destination would affect that.

OK .. I don't think this will be an issue...but I will warn you...Montreal is notoriously slow and late!!!! You may have to plan for another night coming through there.

Eek. Thanks for the warning!!! I know that Air Maroc is also known to be late too... He's suppose to go from Agadir to Casablanca but from my previous experience, I ended up missing my flight from Casa to Germany because Air Maroc was late arriving to Agadir. I'm going to have to bug my TA to book a  different flight plan then. Thanks!!

No problem...I try to warn everyone because if he arrives at 18:00 and then has to spend the time coming through customs and then immigration on top of it...there is no way he will make it on a flight that night...he will be sleeping in the airport.

I don't know if it is possible for you to meet him in Montreal or not...but definitely look for other options.
