Hi,

Only send one set of proof.  Although it asks for it in both checklists you really only require one set.  Some people like a "Table of Contents" however, I prefer to list the items in my submission letter (cover letter).  Organize them in the order it requests them in the checklist.

Ok... that sounds good. Then I can just refer them to the attached proof...makes sense to me. Thank you Smiley

yes its about time

As Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and the Government of Canada have noticed an increase in the number of fraudulent marriages, they are proposing changes for the Family Class immigration category, specifically for spousal sponsorships.

Under the Family Class category, Canadian permanent residents and citizens are able to sponsor their spouse or common-law partner (non-Canadian) for Canadian permanent residency. Currently, once a spouse/partner lands in Canada as a permanent resident, they are not obliged to stay with their spouse/partner.

The Government of Canada is proposing to impose a “conditional permanent residence” for non-Canadian spouses or partners who have been in a relationship with their Canadian sponsor for two years or less. The newcomer would have to remain in the relationship with their Canadian sponsor for two years upon their arrival in Canada. If the newcomer decides to leave his/her spouse/partner, the permanent residence status would be revoked, which may result in their removal from Canada.

a first visit before marriage proves you're not out to just get married to come to Canada. It will help in the embassy's role of thinking marriage is genuine, but first visit marriages have been approved and granted visa also ..just prove you married her for love not to get out of morocco
OK THANKS...well we have meet in a marriage islamic site my canadian gf is  a convert muslim ...we have meet in about 6 mounths talk via msn emails etc so now she wanna come for marriage ofcours,we dont have time to waste and as long as we are muslims means we arent into relationships or dating things etc but only marriage..so i guess we gonna marry when she comes in May inshallah.
.I have some more questions pls concerning documents she needs to bring etc,,a document which proovs her coversion to islam hows that? i asked her if  she can do that in  a mosque there and bring it with her or this isnt enough?? or shall i do it by myself writing it for her and notorized it  ?,,also she is commin for 2 weeks only why shdnt it be enough time for marriage stuff? i live in rabat by the way..why other pple having lawyers doing this for them!! i have seen its not hard just needs a good plan.thats all i guess!..another thing concerning capacity of marriage,,my gf needs a sworn and passport and pay 50$ to get them right? does she needs an appointment for that?shall i do that for her in the embassy cus she aint speak french or arabic ..!!..thanks for making things clear for me..

Your girlfriend needs to check out the following link to the Canadian Consulate in Morocco for advice on what she needs to bring with her to get married in Morocco.

http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/morocco-maroc/consular_services_consulaires/marriage-mariage.aspx?lang=eng

There is also information available on the Moroccan Consulate in Canada website.  This link is in English but it is available in French as well.

http://www.consulatdumaroc.ca/english.htm

You need to go speak to an adul before your girlfriend comes to Morocco so that you are prepared for all of the requirements to marry a woman from a foreign country.  Many people hire lawyers in Morocco to help them because there is a lot of baksheesh and waiting involved to get the appropriate documents.  I have heard that in Rabat it is a little easier than in other cities/towns so I hope that is true for you.

Salam, im a canadian revert and I will be marrying a Moroccan man in June inchallah, we are trying to get information on what documents we need while I am there and how I can get him here faster. We don't want to be away from eachother for too long. So far what I've been reading is it can take up to a year. We both have never been married, have no children and no criminal record. Does anyone have any information or tips. All this information is overwhelming and I have no idea what some of the things they ask for is.

Your question is still confusing because your previous post rambles.  Do you mean after you get married?  No, you don't need to register it at the Canadian embassy after you get married.  You do need to register it with the Moroccan Department of Foreign Affairs.

2 weeks is not much time.  But I've heard that Rabat is faster than other cities.  However, no one can say for sure.  It took me and my husband 23 days to complete everything in Marrakech.  Best of luck.

I had to do this when I got married in Morocco.  I brought a friend with me for the interview with the Judge but he only asked me one question which was if I wanted to marry my husband.  The one with the police was quick and pretty much asked the same question.  It is ridiculous but that's how it was done.
