SPONSORSHIP APPROVED!!!!!!

Hi all,

I called CIC this morning and found out that my sponsorship application has been APPROVED and the papers have been sent to Rabat.

I'm so excited and happy and just told Adam (boras), YAY!!!!!!! one step down, next is the wait for Rabat to contact him.

Isabelle, we're only a few days off from each other and what a comforting feeling to know that. Going through this with friends on this board as support has been wonderful.

Today is the 30th, I'm sure Penny is busy packing for her reunion with her son-in-law. I'm thinking of you Penny and your daughter and hope you have a wonderful trip to Winnipeg.

Have a FABULOUS long weekend everyone and speedy process to all!!!!

Cheers,
Raven

Hello everyone!
Isabelle & Raven, it is so good to hear of your good news! Please tell Boubaker & Adam congratulations too!
Tracy, thanks so much for the info. I haven't heard from Abdel, and think of all you guys often. Please forward my congratulations to Abdel & Loretta on their wedding. I wish I could be there.
It's so good to hear that Rachid & Abdel found work. A Vespa!!?? I want one of those! They look like so much fun!
I have been busy packing since Monday. I bought a box of couscous for Rachid. Yes, a box. I thought he would have a laugh. Someone told him that we only get vegetables in cans. Do you think I should bring him a can of spinach, as a joke.
Well, I am going to see what else to stuff in my suitcase. Hmmm, maybe a can of chickpeas?

Good morning Isabelle,

I have an old email from Kelly where she gave me her time line  (I hope she doesn't mind me posting it), their process went fairly quickly.

Apr 16 - she received sponsorship approval letter
May 10 - he received letter from Rabat saying they have his application and starting to review
June 7 - he had his interview

Oh, I hope ours goes as quick, so guess in less than 30 days from now both our husbands should receive letters.

Hope you had a great long weekend,
Raven

Hi Isabelle;

A few of us entered our processing times/dates on the following website:

http://www.trackitt.com/canada-immigration-trackers/family-class/

Others might want to put their info on this website - the more who add information the more everyone can see how long each other's process is taking.

It took about 3 months from the time of sponsorship confirmation to the interview date for us.  Kelly's was a little quicker (by about a month) - my guess is because they might have been trying to be fast as there was a baby involved...

Hope this helps,

Tracy

Hi All,

Still working on getting the papers submitted.  We have hit roadblock after roadblock.  Problems with errors on our marriage certificate, difficulties getting Work Certificates due to vacations etc.

So my big question is regarding the Marriage Certificate.  We were married in Marrakech and were issued an Acte de Marriage Certificate.  We then took this certificate to Rabat to be translated and equalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Morocco.  I wonder what I need to submit with our paperwork.

Should I submit the original of the Acte de Marriage?  (I only have one original and do not want to give it up)  Will a photocopy suffice?

As for the translation with the equalization stamps etc on it, should I submit the original or a photocopy?  Once again I have only one original of this document.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to keep my head up but its hard when the processing times are increasing .......

Thanks,
Rebecca

Hi Becca,

We made 3 photocopies of our marriage certificate and translation and had them notarized as copie conforme a l original in Morocco.  I sent one of the copies in with the paperwork.

Hello everyone to start my name is Donna. I have met my boyfriend on the net I guess like most of you. I met him about a year ago and I took a trip to Morocco in July of this year. It was so beautiful there. We had such a great time together travelling and meeting his family they were all so nice to me and welcomed me when I arrived. I was just wondering about marriage because we have been talking about getting married next summer probably July of 2008 and by the sounds of it, it is a very long process. Could you please tell me what I will need before I go back again so I have it all in order before I arrive. The people in this forum sound very nice and helpful to everyone. I hope that someone could help me out with this everyone has such kind words. I have been reading your messages and I hope that everyone is getting closer to having there husbands close to them. I know that I am not close to where all you are but it would be nice to have people to talk to about us. Ever since I seen my boyfriend at the airport I knew in my heart that he was the one for me and now that I have seen him being back in Canada is so hard. I want him with me and my kids because we miss him so much. We talk everyday on webcam but it isn't the same as seeing him everyday in person. I am lost without him here. I tryed to post something last night but don't know if it was posted this is the first time that I tryed this so I am sorry if I send almost the same words.

Donna
