Hi Yamina,

My husband is Adam (aka Boras on this board). I check the CIC site way too often to see the progress of where they are in Mississauga. Every time I look the processing time gets longer and longer, a week before we submitted it was 32 days, now it's 50 days, needless to say I'm getting antsy about the whole thing. Are they all on vacation in Aug? are they short staffed? has anyone even opened my envelope? hummm frustrating process, I'm trying to be patient but well you know, i want to be with my husband!!!!!!

Funny you mention shopping for warmer clothes, I was thinking the same thing this morning, the air is getting chilly ALREADY here in Toronto and it made me think about Adam and when he gets here he'll either be in love with winter and snow or hate it. I'll get him snowboarding and ice skating so I'm sure he'll be a winter lover like me.

Hope all is good with you and let us know when you get your letter.

Have a great day,
Raven

Hi Cindy,

I am downtown Toronto (Harbourfront). We sent our application in on July 24th, what day did you send yours? Even though their website says they are proecessing applications received up to July 12th, I still check my mailbox eagerly every evening, wishful thinking!

What city is your husband in? Mine is in Marrakech.

Happy Friday and a speedy process to everyone,
Raven

It's done!  Papers have been sent CIC will receive tomorrow, the coutdown has officially begun. :-)
Hi Raven,

I hope they speed up a little, they've been stuck on july 12th for what... 3 weeks now??  I hope I hope I hope it's just a pile of applications on July 12th and everything goes fast after that, I'd love to see the 37 day processing time again.

My husband is in Midelt.  It's a small town a few hours away from your husband.  Very nice there, great view of the Atlas mountains.

I'm praying for a speedy processing for all of us.
Salaam

Hey Cindy,

Welcome to the waiting game. I know what a huge relief it is to send that package off and have it out of your hands.

I checked the CIC board as well this morning and progress is slow but there's progress....I just need to learn patience. Looks like I'll be getting a letter in 2-3 weeks (keeping fingers crossed). Isabelle this is your week, you should get your letter any day, good luck!!!!!

I'm still hopeful that once the paperwork gets to Rabat it will move along smoothly like it has for everyone else.

Have a great day all,
Raven

Hello Everyone;

Cindy, Raven and Isabelle - you all remind me of myself not long ago...  Congratulations Cindy on getting your application in to CIC!  I know it's a huge relief just to finally get the application process started.  I see that processing times are longer right now - my guess is that it may be due to summer holidays (less staff than usual).  You'll likely see processing times get shorter once September hits (inshallah).

I know for months I checked our CIC file almost every day.  What a wait!  Also living each moment to the time of actually spending time online with my sweetie.  Things got a bit easier once I came across this forum and met others going through the same process and experience.  It helped a lot.

I guess I'll update everyone on ourselves and Abdella (we just spend part of the weekend in Vancouver visiting Abdel and Loretta).    Rachid is doing well - he's working full time and adjusting to Canadian life. He's already made a number of friends -mostly through the mosque and the local Moroccan/Arabic community.  People have been very helpful and generous - which has helped with the transition and help being so far from home.  He's playing soccer and someone even loaned him a Vespa - so he's got some wheels!

Abdella is doing well - he just started work today and in two weeks Loretta and Abdel are having a Canadian wedding.  We'll be going to Vancouver to celebrate with them.  They're both doing well and Abdel and Rachid have lots of fun talking about crazy Morocco and their various experiences here in Canada.  It's been great being able to share such a new experience with another couple - we have lots of laughs about all the funny things that happen as a result of language, culture, etc.

Penny - I guess it's just a matter of days now??  You and your daughter must be getting so excited!!!

Take care everyone,

Tracy
