We will be married in Jan in Morocco at which time I would like him to get the medical done so I can apply in Feb.  Grin

If I can suggest....leave those Medicals until the last minute - They are only valid for a year...so if anything goes wrong and your application takes more than a year, then you would have to redo them.

Where in Canada are you located?

Where in Canada are you located?

I am in London, ON.

So we should wait until I am ready to send in the application? I thought it would take some time to get the results of the medical? I would really like to apply in Feb as the processing times are much longer now than just a month ago so I want to make sure I am able to get the information I need to send in the application as quickly as possible.

Another question about the marriage itself...do I need a medical from a Canadian Dr to take with me? Or just the medical I will have done when I am in Morocco?

Thanks for your help  Grin

They do not give you the medical results, the results are sent to the embassy towards the end of the sponsorship process. My Husband did his medical about a week before I returned to Canada, and I brought the documentation with me to send with the application.

On Ecas it showed medicals received just before he was issued his visa. He had passed his interview and was told he was approved about 2 months before he received the visa. I have heard that the embassy requests the medical result once they have approved the applicant.

When the person is approved it usually says "Medical received, decision made" on Ecas. when it is a refusal it just says decision made, there is no mention of the medical.

I personaly took a medical exam here to present that stated that I was in good health, and had no communicable diseases.

Good luck

You don't need a medical, only the principal applicant needs a medical - You only need medical from either Morocco or Canada...you have the option...wherever it is cheaper I guess and they do not take long time from Morocco (2 Weeks is usually the normal timeframe).

Cheers

Wow I am learning so much and I thought I had a pretty good handle on it...LOL

What documentation did you bring back with you? Just a letter stating when and by whom it was done?

I have not heard before today that I have to have a medical done here as well so I was a little surprised.  Shocked I was under the impression mine had to be done in Morocco for the marriage.

Ok I think you are misunderstanding me.

If you are not the principal applicant you are not required to do any Medicals (Not In Morocco and Not in Canada). Your Husband to be on the other hand will be asked to provide Medicals.

Tongue LOL...no I understand that my fiance will need one for the sponsorship and I will not as the sponsor...but

I am talking about when we actually get married in Jan. One of the things it asks for is a medical for both of us to get married. Now I was under the impression it had to be done in Morocco. But now I am being told I have to bring one from Canada...just a simple one that says I have no deseases and such...this is what I was surprised by.  Shocked

Thank you that is very kind  Cheesy

I am as I write waiting for him to come online. He has to use cyber cafes which can be soo frustrating if they are busy with no spots available....I will ask him to inquire and see what he can find out. I am sure he will be able to find out. I am just surprised I did not hear about this before...I am glad I am finding out now though!! Want to be completely prepared.

I should be completely crazy by the time this is all over  Tongue  Cool

You will also need a medical done in Morocco for the marriage. Depending on the doctor you will find how detailed of an exam you will get. I must say that I was very lucky because I gave the doctor in Morocco my medical results from my Doctor here in Canada, he asked if I was pregnant, said I looked healthy and that was it. I have heard of many doctors there that are much more complicated though. They give a detailed exam as well as a pregnancy test. so many women I have to say had to take pregnancy tests there. There are also others that had a very easy doctors visit there.

I had all of my exam results from here in Canada as well as the doctor wrote on his prescription pad that I am healthy without any communicable diseases. It made everything very easy for me once I was there.
I wanted to be very prepared.

Weird, my father is a doctor (specialist) in Morocco and I never knew that you needed medical exams in order to get married. Shocked

I'm afraid you do. I have never heard of anyone not having to do the exam to get married. We all had to go through it, some painlessly, others not so painlessly .

There are very friendly doctors there, and then others that are prejudice against mixed marriages , so they don't want to make it easy.
