Hello!
We are still gathering all the necessary documents, so probably only next month we are going to send our application. Based on your time line it looks like they are pretty quick in Warsaw which is really good! ;)

Could anybody please advice me - re: details of family members - should we put mother's/father's/sister's information as well or this is just for spouse and children? If husband has children from previous marriage but didn't contact them for more than 7 years, won't be able to get all the necessary information (passport details and pictures) - can he pass on showing them on application?
Thanks in advance!!!!

Check out the guide
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/3999E4.asp

'Family details' appear on two forms and the information you need to enter is slightly different in each case.

IMM0008 has a section on Details of family members which the guide explains as:
Quote
Details of family members

Your family members are your spouse or common-law partner, if applicable, and your dependent children (start with the oldest). You must include all of your family members (who are not already permanent residents of Canada or Canadian citizens), whether they intend to immigrate with you or not. Any other relative (your mother, father, sister or brother, for instance) is not considered a family member for the purpose of this application. If you have more than three family members, attach a separate sheet of paper with the same information provided in the same order.

While for form IMM5406, as described in the guide, requires that:

Quote
Additional Family Information (IMM 5406)

You must answer all questions. If any sections do not apply to you, please answer “Not Applicable”.

It is very important that you list on this form any other children (even if they are already permanent residents of Canada or Canadian citizens) that you, your spouse or common-law partner or your dependent children might have who are not included in your Application for Permanent Residence. This includes married children, adopted children, stepchildren and any of your children who have been adopted by others, or who are in the custody of an ex-spouse or ex-common-law partner.

I am unsure about how you deal with the situation with your husbands children, maybe someone else on the forum has experience of that situation.

I say the chap at the gate of the Canadian embassy is quite snotty and somewhat rude, treating everyone like some kind of peon who dares approach his sacred domain...

Thank you so much for replies!!!
I saw that there are two forms asking to provide family member details, just confused a little bit. Thanks for clarification!
As far as children.. I saw there is a form to fill - declaration where applicant declare that will never going to sponsor his dependents. Will this be sufficient? (as far as I understand we have to show them on 5406 form, but not necessarily on 0008).
Juche, please keep posting about your progress.
I do check trackitt periodically. Have you registered there? I did for my previous cases and as soon as we will be ready to apply will do it again. it so convenient ;)
