I have sponsored my wife and dependent children. I am working in a company however, due to down sizing in the company  they are lay off some staff and I am also in the list. I am planning to apply for Employment Insurance, does it effect my sponsorship process?

No, it won't affect your application. I already spoke one of the Employment Services Advisor.
