My sponsor, Inland, my wife of 8yrs, could be let go very soon....

Does claiming EI disqualify her from sponsoring me?

No, EI is an insurance scheme, you pay in when you work, take it out when you don't

As PMM stated, it will be no problem.
My hubby had to go on EI (sick benefits to be more exact) before we heard about him being approved as a sponsor and all was fine.
After all, EI is insurance you pay into and have a right to when you are unable to work. You aren't taking money from the government.
