Hi everyone,
I have a strange question I need your opinion on...
We're planning on sending in our application package next week (woo hoo!) to sponsor my common-law partner - we are both living abroad in the Netherlands.  However, next week we're going on vacation to Canada and thought it might be easy just to wait and send the application to CPC-M when we land in Toronto.   Will this cause confusion if it is not sent from the Netherlands?  My understanding is that only outland applications go to Mississauga anyway so do you think we can do this?  I suppose they wouldn't look at the envelope to see where it has come from anyway, would they?

Any feedback/advice on this strategy would be appreciated!

I'd say its little odds, but if you're all ready to go, just post it from the Netherlands- registered! You don't want the hassle of bringing it with you, possibly losing it in packed luggage, having to find a post office or organising a courier when you're meant to be on holiday!

In my experience, European post is faster than Canadian, so it would probably arrive the same time anyway! With the whole application process ahead of you, a few days isn't going to make a difference!

Best of luck!

We did just that, I took all my paperwork in my carry on...so it wouldn't get lost...
you mail from Holland it can take days, we mailed it from Belleville area and it got there next day..sorted
we also had my husbands medical done in Peterborough, ALOT cheaper then UK

we took the paperwork and police check with us, I carried as I am the canadian citizen..

so it is not odd to send from there.....go for it

I had the same question you did becuase I was the one filling out all the forms. We did outland and I'm in US. But instead of mailing it from here, which i wasn't sure if i could do, I just used mailing it from a Canada address as an excuse to get outta work to go visit my husband ;)
