You need to tell us what visa office or processing office you are applying through, we really can't guess.

So you submitted your application to CPC-Mississauga in January 2011.  Which VISA OFFICE would process the applicant?

i have received letter from them saying that they have forwarded the application to visa office in Islamabad. i have received the letter in march 2011.

The timeline for Islamabad is 24 months.  You may get an acknowledgement of receipt from CHC-Islamabad, but it can take 6 months or more for them to send one, so your husband may receive one sometime soon.  Other than that, it will take awhile for them to process.
