Hello,
Today I was asked but could not answered can anybody help with the following:
what happens if Sponsor and the Sponsord persons both are above 65 now, and can't work due to siniority, They are not elligible for Canada Pension and They don't have enough money to survive.
Can Sponsor got the welfare ?

If the sponsored person got their PR less than 3 years ago, the sponsor is responsible for them financially if they go on welfare, the sponsor will be asked to re-pay it. The sponsor himself could go on welfare though. There are also charities, soup kitchens, food banks etc. they could make use of in order to stretch out what little they have.
