Hi,

There is no FAX number to submit the documents ...only post or email provision.

Yes, you can check both email and hard copy.......hard copy will not be send if you receive an Email version.

Just providing other information for prospective seekers of CAIPS/GCMS
If you are living in Canada you can order your CAIPS notes or on behalf of someone else for $5 under the Privacy Act.

1) http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5563E.pdf
This is the latest form for requesting CAIPS. It has the option of Credit card payment.
Complete the form:

a) Visa post (e.g. Buffalo, NY etc.)
b) File number (e.g. BXXXX..)
c) Date of Birth
d) Your Postal address (In Canada address only)

2) Check on the box for the CAIPS or GCCMS notes request in the form.

3) Provide a photocopy of your valid legal stay in Canada (Work permit/visa or details of PR /Citizenship in Canada (Person requesting).

4) Write a cover letter requesting the notes (Person who requests writes that).
5) Consent letter from all the people in the PR application above the age of 18.
6) Write a cover letter (Authorization letter with the details of the person who would get it for you)
7) http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/imm5476e.pdf
Fill the above form as well.
Cool Scanned copies are accepted, so you can scan and send all your docs to your relative in Canada.
9) Credit card payment form :

IMM 5667 (04-2011) E
10) Your relative can email them all the docs along with his cover letter to

The usual time they take is 30+ days...irrespective of any box you click on.

Thank you very much!!!!! one more question, what is the  Visa file (information abroad) (includes CAIPS/GCMS) ? useless ? some guys said  DO NOT check any other boxes in this section. Especially the "OVERSEAS VISA FILE" box. If you do this, they will pull your file aside, photocopy everything and send it to you.
It will not only take you forever to get the information, but they will also take your file out of the queue to process your request and therefore it will take LONGER !!! (CAIPS is just a computer printout of all the work done on your file so far. It will not affect the speed at which your visa office)

is that true ?

hi,
what do u think of chances of getting VISA, if CIC asks for clarifications on certain concerns n how much time do they take to give
their final verdict. actually there were certain things mismatched between me n my wife during telephonic interview. for the past 2 months after
submitting our clarification we are waiting for their decision.

ur expert advice pl.
