Some clarifications on e-cas, client id

Hi, i just want to get some clarifications on the ff info:
1. Client ID:
a. this ID is for both my sponsor ( my wife) and me right?
b. will we only be assigned a client id once CPC acknowledges receipt of our application, or when wifey is approved as a sponsor?
2. E-CAS:
a. how or when do we create an e-cas account? (do we need the client id to create one)

Hi there.

1.a. Yes, the client ID is assigned to check the status of the application. CIC also gives the File number along with the Client ID when you get sponsorship approval. That could be used to check the application as well. The sponsor's details need to be entered while using the Client ID and the Applicant's (person being sponsored) details while using the File no.

b. Yes, you will be assigned a Client ID and File No. only after you get sponsorship approval.

2. You do not have to create an e-cas account. You can check your application status online here https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/?app=ecas&lang=en

You should be able to login to your ecas within a day or two of sponsorship approval, a week in some cases.

Please tell how to check address of applicant using client ID in ecas
Mine showing decision made in sponsor status and received application and medical results in permanent residence application (showing no address)

You need to use the File no. and enter the Applicant's info to view your application details. Please use the 'Given Name' that you entered on your application forms to login.
