Dear friends, I am not in the favor of creating new threads, unless they are very important, but since i havent met a single applicant of NOC 4152 on the forum (even the statistics shows that 528 apllicant have already applied under this catagory). I just want to say," where are you guys"?  Please introduce your self, share your experiences of filling the application as well as current status, to have some good fellows of our NOC b4 we enter CANADA! |

Dear All, wanted to know whether, graduation in Sociology, will stands back with Social workers NOC, coz some of my friends say, one must have a degree in Social work.
When i got my job as a Field Social Organizer, they required graduation in social sciences, and i got the job on the bases of Sociology....
Please guide,

My VO is Buffalo, so who knows how long I am going to wait for my medicals...But I am glad we are forming our own thread Some useful information for SW planning to land in Ontario: Internationally Educated Social Workers at www.ryerson.ca/ce/socialworkBesides info about continuing education and licencing I also subscribed to their mailing list and I am getting available job openings on weekly bases. I also applied as social worker. before applying I completed my credential evalution from Canadian Association of Social Worker CASW. I got my result that my degree is equalant to Canadian Master of Social Work MSW. Then I sent my Result to Alberta College of Social Work for Practice Permit and they replied me that just pay fee and fill the form and send along with Police Clearance Certificate to us we will issue you a practice permit then you can work in all Alberta...
I sent my application and it received on 18 Apr.

I have also had my crendentials evaluated by CASW which is equivalent to Canadian MA Social Work. However not sure which provincial regulator I am going to to register with. If things go according to plan, I would probably end at ACSW as well. Lets link up and share our experiences. Good luck! |
