Making the decision to immigrate or relocate is a big step. Close behind is deciding where to go and what your needs are. The local resources in the community of your choice may need to fit those of a whole family or a just single individual. There are lots of things to think about, schools, access to medical care; availability of work, if you thinking of setting up a business, access labour and the right markets.

My husband & I were thinking of doing just this. Even though we intend to resettle where he grew up and spent 19 years - it's been 13 years and it might not be the same feel/what we want for our kids. His mom & sister and other family still lives there but that's not a guarantee it's perfect for us still.

Always a good idea to checkout the surrounding areas as you never know you just might like it! Also things such as housing costs etc can be a lot more affordable even just a few miles outside of the main cities.
