SO FAR SO GOOD

Dear All members, Its been a great 6 days in Calgary,Canada, by the grace of Allah, I applied for SIN card, Health card, Converted my U.K driving licence to Canadian Driving licence and moved in a beautiful 2 B.R apartment and Insha Allah by next week my children will start going to School in a walkable distance and Insha Allah next is my job search and I am confident Allah will make it easy for me. All these things were possible because of my friend's sister and brother in law, who helped me like my own family and all my jobs were done so easy.

Canada is beautiful, people here are wonderful and friendly and the weather is chilly.

First of all congrats for easy settlement...

For me ..I do not have any relative or friend in canada....i hope i will get my Visa soon...But i am worried about post landing ....Can you please guide ..how a person who is not having any one there can land without hassel ...

Hi Mayan, First decide where you want to Land, if you ask me I will tell not to land in toronto, they take long time in Immigration, customs and also to do other formalities like health card, SIN card, my friends said it takes more than 3-4 hours every where for each thing, for me it took in minutes

1) Airport it took 20 minutes after landing to come outside finishing all the formalities
2) SIN card it took 30 minutes for my self, wife and 2 children
3) health card took 5 minutes  "
4) Licence 5 minutes

now about your question, I also stayed in motel(econo lodge $69 a day) for 4 days, bring  your laptop with you and have access in hotel as they ask if needed, use Canada transit website, now feed the information where you want to go(Post Codes From your hotel to the destinations) you will get the bus/train numbers, timings, this will make your job  easier Insha Allah.

Hows weather in calgary man. I heard in winter it freezes? What kind a job you after? Is it odd job you looking for? Whats you profession?

Thanks for reply...But again...i want to land in Toronto only...lets say if i stay at any motel...but i planned to land alone...then after 6 months i will call my wife..But how one can find PG or bachelor home stay with easy way ?

Hi, Basically I have got  restaurant manager(0631) experience and I will not go into it, I am looking for some customer service job, Insha Allah I am told here it is very much possible in the Car Show rooms, Super stores etc., Weather is awesome, I see snow, Bright sun but don't feel freezing it is 3Degree Celsius, flurries some time but it is Spring season here.

Hi Mayank, just search for rental properties for sharing, so many of them are like you and  they share rooms in  apartment where you can get a room for $300 to $400.
