Hi  Smiley

Four years ago, I applied for immigration as skilled worker and they gave me File number & put me in que.
Now they contacted me and asked to submit my documents.

But there is a problem:
that time when I first applied, my family name was Pyroo in my passport but when 2 years ago I extended my passport, it's been changed to Pyrou. although they both pronounce the same.
I want to make sure if it doesn't cause any problem to my application proccess and what do I have to do about it.
I can submit the copy of both my passports (the expired one and the new one) with my other docs for them to prove both names are the same. is it enough?

Thank you in advance for your professional answers.

Send a letter explaining the change in spellings of your name and request that in record your new spellings may be amended to "Pyrou". Although this is not change in name but this spelling change of your name must be given in public notice cause your educational and employment documents would be bearing your old spellings.  When you arrive in Canada and go for job they will see as 2 different names and you need to explain that. Get your driving licence issued in new spellings cause they would not entertain this here.  Your partners passport would be bearing your name  with old spellings.Your CoPR and visa should have new spellings ( same as new passport )and for that you need to inform the visa office so that they do not make mistake. You need to do a lot.

Thank you very much for your reply  Grin
But you know in fact the spell on my expired passport was not correct and the correct spell of my family name is the one on the new passport and all my documents is with the new spell, so I thing it won't be a problem there IF they approve my docs with new spelling...
The problem is the 1st application form which I sent for them four years ago was under name Pyroo and now that they asked for updated and completed documents, (until now I was just in the que and now they want my documents) everything is under name Pyrou including my passport. I want to make sure that it doesn't cause any problem for further process of my application and if they would correct my name or not. I have to post all my docs "together" in maximum 3 months.
Thanks
