Skilled Worker: NOC Job Title Help...!!!

Hello Immigration Gurus,

I am planning to apply for Canada's PR under Federal skilled worker class. When I was verifing my current job title in list of NOC occupation, I got confused. Can you please help me out here.

I am working as Programmer Analyst which is listed as 2174 in NOC list. But this job is not listed for Federal skilled worker class. Now in the given list they have 0213 "Computer programs Manager" and when I checked in that list I found out that this my current job title is classifed elsewhere in 0213 list;

•Computer and information systems supervisors (in 217 Computer and Information Systems Professionals)
•Computer Engineers (Except Software Engineers and Designers) (2147)
•Computer Programmers and Interactive Media Developers (2174)
•Computer services company presidents (in 0013 Senior Managers - Financial, Communications and Other Business Services)

So do I need to change my job title to Computer Programs Manager (0213) or should I Just keep that as a Programmer Analyst (2174).?

What matters most is the job duties that you perform not the job titles.

If your job duties are represented by some of what you have under 0213 then you most apply under 0213. The other NOC number you quoted I think are not under the approved 38 NOC list.

My job duties are same as "0213 - Computer programs Manager" but in my joining letter and in my experinece letter my employer put my job title as " Programmer Analyst" which is 2174.

So as per our reply, I can keep my job title as "Programmer Analyst" but if my job duties are same as 0213 then I can keep my NOC number as 0213.
