Hi all,

Can anybody correct me if I am wrong but 1 year ago the required length of Canadian work experience was 1 year (not 2) correct?

No, it was always either 2 years studies + 1 year work or just 2 years work.

You may be mixing that up with the FSW class you could apply under after a year in Canada.  They don't have that one any more.

FSW=federal skilled worker - QSW=Quebec skilled worker
AEO=arranged employment offer - LMO=labour market opinion
CEC=Canadian experience class - PNP=provincial nominee program

You still need 2 years of skilled work. For the FSW category, the experience required is a minimum of 1 year.
