Hi everyone,

I'm a visa student in Canada. Just wondering if I go back to my home country-Vietnam and come back to Canada, do I need a single entry or multiple entry visa? I have already sent my application to Buffalo for single entry visa but my friend told me I must apply the multiple one. I'm assuming visa is for entry to Canada, so it's only coming back to Canada that counts but not going back home-Vietnam.

If it is the multiple one that I have to get, what should I do? re-send my application?

Please help :(

I suppose you would have to apply for the multiple-entry visa. I am assuming that as soon as you leave Canada your visa (single-entry) will be cancelled, in which case you would not be able to enter Canada.

Let seniors respond to this.

Well if you want to leave and re-enter Canada more than once, I would apply for a multiple entry.  What happens if there is a family emergency at home and you have to return?  You would then have to apply for another TRV abroad to return to your studies.

Thank you for your input.

My study permit will expire on July 2010 and as well my visa. Because of school, I have no plan of going back home during school time. That's why I was thinking single entry would be my option and applied because it allows me to entry to Canada once. I've never thought that visa would be cancelled when going back. This is my first time applying...so srewed up :(
There's only 1month of summer left and re-applying probably takes at least 2weeks to process. *sigh*
