Even banks like Standard Chartered and HSBC couldnt verify this Temasek. ICICI bank India does it. They have a very good follow up process in this matter. This is why I guess India is the fastest in Asia's aggressive economies after China.

Looks like it.  Ironically even their own staff could not give a consistent answer.  Their Customer Service first said "yes" and then later "no"; but when I checked with their main office it became "yes but you gotta pay for it"!

OCBC.  Their teller was not sure, and said she needed to check.

For those who are landing in Calgary, and need to enrol your kids
in the school, remember to bring along past academic and
vaccination records.

You need to call and make an appointment first. Your kid will be assessed
and place in a school in your neighbourhood.

Almost everything according to plan; the only exception is job. Having relatives
around help a lot with settlement.

You need a car in Calgary. The Calgary Transit is far from perfect, and Calgary
is huge; very spread out. Ikea in South Calgary is a good place to shop for furniture
and household items. Just remember to stop by Ikea Cafe at the ground level - hot dog
50cts, yoghurt ice cream $1, etc.

Some of the shopping malls are huge - e.g. Cross Iron Mills(North Calgary) and Market Mall(NW).
For Asian produce, try T&T supermarket at Pacific Place(Malborough C-train station), Lucky
supermarket(near to Forest Lawn) and Hong Kong supermarket at 17th Ave

The views at Banff National Park are breathtaking; about 1.5 hrs away.

Albert economy, on the surface, seems ok. "Help Wanted" signs outside shops.
I am still searching; still in holiday mood. Probably I need to revise my resume
further.

Hi Tran

Glad that u r settling down well and already know where all to get all yr asian groceries and food, as well as bargins! glad indeed!. I was in Calgary 4 weeks ago and Calgary indeed has grown to be damn big and u really do need a car to get around!

Anyhow, what are yr plans for jobs? what industry u looking at, in particular? I am in Regina now, and Saskatchewan has lots of jobs man! I was at the career fair at Uni of Regina, and every employer is looking for jobs here man! Especially canadian qualified engineers, geologist, or technicans or any one who is well qualified in technical area. Even the banks and financial institutions are hiring aggressively and looking for anyone who has canadian qualification to work here. Since Tran, u have an SFU degree, it will dan easy for u to find a job here man if u r willing to settle in SK. Economy here is much much better than Alberta for sure!

Hi Abelkwh,

How are you doing in Regina? You did mentioned that you're taking some course
at the U of Regina. What are you taking now at U of Regina? Just curious.

Jobs aplenty in Saskatchewan. I will forward my resume once I get it revised.

I am working a Geology program, i have some transfer credits, so that enables me to complete within 6 to 7 semesters of work with some co-op positions in between for summer. Need to be re-train in some highly demanded field man, or else, it is pretty hard unless u dont mind jobs that arent that professional or do not require specific professional skill set.

There are plenty of engineering and mineral or mining related jobs, thats why the demand for engineers, scientists or science related field people, not much of financial related unless in accounting and finance, but it is highly competitive in this area cause of the higher supply compared to the demand for it.
