Hi All,

I have received a letter from SVO today re: Procedure to add a new born child. But the thing is, I have already submitted the necessary forms and documents last December 2011. The only difference now are: 1. mode of payment - Bank Draft C$150 (the payment of the previous application I sent to add my new born child was through a credit card) 2. No additional forms like IMM0008 and IMM5406. They require me to submit the following:

1. Bank Draft C$150
2. Copy of Birth Certificate
3. Copy of Passport
4. 3 Recent Photo

My concern is, it states in the letter that we need to submit the required payment and documents 60 DAYS AFTER THE CHILD WAS BORN. Obviously, this would be more than 60 days as my child is turning 6 months now. The previous application we sent to add my new born child was 53 days prior to the 60 days deadline.

Pretty confused here.

Thank you for the replies!

God bless.

Regards,

Bembol

Just do accordingly what the VO instructed. All the best.

No problem, just send them what they have required. In your cover letter, put the reference of their letter they issued to you. Do it ASAP as you should pay the fee while sending the docs and forms in 2011 December.

Hi Deba and Moy,

I was just too anxious upon reading the letter without noting that the Bank Draft C$150 was highlighted in yellow. The rest among the lists are just plain.

I suppose they are only asking for the bank draft as the payment method I did before was incorrect considering I've sent them all the required forms and documents before in adding my new born child to our application.

What do you think?

Thank you and God bless!

Hi Deba,

It's basically a standard letter of procedure of adding newly born child to the application. But from the list of documents they require, the bank draft C$150 is the only one that is highlighted. If I'm not mistaken, it is the only document from the list they need me to send as I have sent all pertinent forms and documents before of adding my newly born child.

God bless!

Hi All,

Anyone residing in Singapore who requested A Bank Draft from the bank? Can you please guide me how to get one. I've just been to the bank just now and the person in-charge has been prompting me several questions that I couldn't get. The guy is asking me if the bank draft is intended for overseas or just in Singapore.

Thank you for your help.

Hi Bembol,

I did twice from DBS. They have a form available at the corner where they put all kinds of forms. Just fill it up, give it to the bank teller, and that's it!

Hi Bandwith,

I just went to POSB/DBS this afternoon. I told the person in-charge about the bank draft and they are quite not sure and instead told me about DEMAND DRAFT and CASHIER'S ORDER. Is Demand Draft the same as Bank Draft?

Thank you for your reply.

God bless!
