My application was sent to CPC-M the first week of October; given the fact that it's 70 days now for step 1, I don't expect it to be in Singapore until at least after the new year. Reading posts from J5huynh and some others, it's hopeful that our file might be processed by late summer or early Fall. I've also heard that Singapore has a rather high rate of interview requests, especially with applications from Vietnam. We've been married for 3 years and have a 9-month old baby girl. The baby just received her canadian citizenship certificate. We are applying for her passport.

I wonder if any of you would kindly offer your thoughts on my case regarding: 1) the possibility of a waived interview (we are ready for any interview!  Smiley however, not having one would mean a much shorter processing time for us); 2) if you know of any similar cases in which there is a child/or children involved, and the processing time for such applications. Thanks in advance, everyone!
I sent sponsorship application for my son and husband on sept 28. My son is 17 months old. As per I know there is no less processing time wheather a child is involved or not. Like you I am expecting no interview for my case beccause this is our first marriage, we are married for six years, we have two kinds and my husband was included as non accompanying spouse in my PR application. But you nevere know what VO thinks about your case. Which is simple to me, may be very complex case for them and take 24 month to process.

Strange. It took them only 6 months to open our file. And now they have been processing for 5 months. But it seems the process may be almost finished and still under the 13 months that it took you. Who knows. I think most people can agree that the date they say they start processing the file isn't the actual date, and that they take a look at the files before then. If this isn't the case then it means that they don't open the files on the first come first serve basis.

Congrats anyways and we will try to keep waiting positivly.

Singapore received our file in early June this year and its been almost 5 months since then and haven't heard anything back/ haven't seen any updates to our ECAS as of yet. However, my wife's mother also has a spousal application that has been sent to Singapore as well. Hers got to Singapore nearly a month after ours did and after just 3 days of Singapore having her application their ECAS was updated to "In Process". Then, about a week ago she was informed that she is on their interview list. We still have not heard anything about our case from Singapore though. So yes this seems to be evidence that they do not open the files on a first come first basis.

Keeping in mind though, her case (In my opinion) has fraud written all over it at least what a CIC officer would most likely believe from what they submitted. So maybe the reason why their file was brought to attention so quickly was because of the very high suspicion level right from the get go.

Hopefully this means that me and my wife's application was much more satisfying to them at first glance (based on this I'm assuming they take first glances if they opened my wife's mother's file 3 days after they received it)

After following the posts of other users on this thread I believe me and my wife's application should start to be processed sometime in December (hopefully).

Hi all,
Our application came in to Mississauga on June 7th of this year, and was passed along to Singapore on August 8th with my sponsor approval. My wife is from Vietnam, and I've posted a little about our story in another thread here. From what I gather reading this forum and others, Singapore is one of the most difficult places to get processed. Still, we're hoping for a positive outcome-- and hopefully sooner rather than later. Looking forward to hearing about others' happy endings too!
Cheers
