I found this from data.gc.ca

April 1, 2010 to March 31, 2011

Cases Passed   Cases Refused   Approval Rate   Total # of Visas Issued

Singapore - RPC            6,774            3,122              68%                 6,789

X % of cases were completed within M months or less

20 %                     30 %              50 %               70 %                80%
                                                                                                                               Total

7M                        9M              13M                       20M                   29M                  9,896 cases

I do not know when mine will finish. I wish at least finish in 9 months max. I do not know whay so many cases are refused by Singapore Vo. It is scare me too.

I agree with you the percentage of refusal is high. Higher than the average for sponsors.
Considering that they refuse almost 32% for what ever reason, missing documents, false documents, criminal record etc.  I think it is time I eat some crow.  Singapore processes 6,800 cases a year.  This changes everything.  A lot of paper to look at and many Visas to issue each month.  Quantity has a quality all of its own.  I respect what they do.

Thanks a lot CA_SG11.  Good advice!  I will try to have a friend of mine sign a notarized declaration that our marriage is genuine.  I do not believe that my sons are old enough to sign. One is 16 and the other 13.  My parents live in Portugal and are old. To do this will stress them out.  I have a very small family in Portugal and in Canada I have my sons.
I also feel a need to make a Life insurance policy with my wife as a beneficiary.  She is poor and especially during this period if I die I fear she will slide into Vietnamese poverty quickly.  I was thinking to send a copy to Singapore.

I am try to figure out how to post better any advice

Hi All,
I applied for my wife for immigration at singapore this March with her old passport. Now i want to change her passport with new picture.  Do you think, this is the right time to change it? Her file is still at singapore for processing. Will this make any delay in processing her file? Please advise.

I don't think you need to send it in now because once singapore approves your wife's permanent residence application they will request her to send in her passport to finalize her visa.

I figured we have enough number of people who have submitted their applications and are waiting. I guess its a good idea to start our own thread. This will give us an idea of our time lines and help each other. Wait times for Singapore seems to be really very long.
Mine is in process since September 28, no word from CHC-S yet Sad

I am Bangladeshi, and my wife is a sponsor, (Canada).  Please help me and need advise also how many days have to wait for my interview. I quote below a latter received from Singapore,

Ok, after my wife received a call last week, she received a letter from the embassy asking her to submit the police clearance certificates, a medical (redo, as the first one is going to expire soon) test report, and the passport. I guess once she submits it, she will get the visa. Hope that this is the last step ...

Wow according to the stats at the top of the page that is 20-30 applications completed per day. And alot of refusals. Do you think there are that many fraudulent marriages? I guess it is believable. A small % might be for things like not having the documents even though it was legitimate, but that must be a small %.

Maybe not as easy as I thought to finalize 20-30 applications per day. :O

Application recieved by Singapore Dec. 8th, 2010. "In progress" as of June 1st, 2011. Arrived in Canada with PR in November, 2011.
