Sorry to butt into this thread, but I cannot seem to find anybody here who is doing or will do a family class sponsorship via Malaysia... But Singapore seems to be really happening! Do you guys know anybody going through the Canadian consulate in Malaysia? I'm also looking for some friends on this forum

Singapore is working really good no doubt about it..if ur case is a straight forward then u should not worry at all...

Hi everyone, Hi whoopsydaisy, am applying under the family class sponsorship via Malaysia, whats your timeline, i received RPRF request on dec 10th and had it paid and had the reciept sent to mississaugua on dec 14th, tracked and confirmed delivery. just wondering how long it will take to receive the PPR. Whats your timeline at the moment. Thanks

Category........: Family class sponsorship
Visa Office......: Malaysia
June 15th, 2010: Sent application to Mississauga.
July 22nd, 2010:Recieved letter from CPC-M confirming eligibility.
August 18th, 2010: Application in process.
November 18th, 2010: Received request for Malaysia Good conduct certificate
Ecas changed to medical received
December 10th 2010: Request for RPRF
December 14th 2010: Paid RPRF and sent receipt to mississauga
Passport request: AWAITING

Hey Zzzz and Sadatul...

I was already in Canada. I was waiting for my wife's sponsorship. Yeah, everything went well and she is already here with me in Canada . Sorry for the long absence. I went to Dhaka for 2.5 weeks to complete my Wedding Reception and to bring her back here. I just returned yesterday.

Here's the complete time line for my wife:

Category........: Family class sponsorship
Visa Office......: Singapore
July 19th, 2010: Sent application to Mississauga.
August 19th, 2010: Received letter from CPC-M confirming eligibility.
August 21st, 2010: Application in process in Singapore.
December 1st, 2010: Approval from Singapore & Received request to submit passport
December 3rd 2010: Passport Submitted to Canadian HC, Dhaka.
January 3rd 2010: Got letter from Canadian HC, Dhaka asking to collect passport
January 5th 2010: Collected Passport with Visa.
January 15th 2010: My wife landed in Canada
Today : She is hating the cold weather!

I hope this helps. In general, I was very satisfied with the time line. Singapore and Mississauga CIC were very quick and processed my wife's application much quicker than the average processing times mentioned in their website (even during Christmas and Holiday season).

The entire process took 5.5 months. Good luck you all.

Hey Congrats Farhanz..ZZZ assumption was a perfect one lolzzz..

Singapore did really good work with our application ..we all got our application finished by 5 months which is great and Singapore always gave me reply of my email which was also encouraging and satisfactory enough..overall i got reply 6 times from them..i think i pushed them a lot to finish my one in quick time

Farhanz would u plz tell us about ur wife's landing experience?? Was that smooth or a bit tricky one???

Landing was very smooth. The Immigration Officer was very welcoming and didn't ask any questions. My wife had 4 suitcases full of stuff - customs didn't ask any question, neither they scanned or checked any of those. Landing was a 3 mins process.

I strongly encourage you to provide a Canadian address to the Immigration officer. That will make sure you get your PR card within 4 weeks.

If you guys need any advice/suggestions on what to bring/what not to bring to Canada, let me know. I will be happy to advice.
