When you are applying, it does not matter what nationality you are or from which country you are in when it comes to processing times, they are supposed to go on a first come first served model.  So unfortunately if you are going through Singapore, you may have to wait the 20 months.   On another side note to that, that means that 80% of applications were finalized in 20 months, if your application was well put together and you had lots of proof of your relationship along with all the proper paperwork such as police checks, medical and the region specific forms included you may find that your application will not take the full 20 months....

According to Stumpedmom saying, if 80% of the applications done in 20 months (Singapore), then Medicals should not be done so early which is valid for 12 months only. Where 80% applicants fall in 20 months time frame, I think CIC should rethink about the medicals procedure, especially for Bangladeshi applicants. To my opinion, CIC should not request for medicals with the applications from the scratch, instead they should ask for medicals in the middle of processing.

Where CIC (Singapore) is not able to  process 80% applications within 12 months, they should change the medical submission rules.

Unfortunately that is one of the requirements is that you have a medical done before the application is filed...unless otherwise stated in the region specific forms.  Also you have been asking about your spouse and child.  If you were married when you got your PR the first time and landed without declaring your spouse, you are not going to be able to sponsor him, and could put your PR in jeopardy for misrepresentation....if I were  you I would seek advice from a lawyer about this...not only that, you have specific requirements to meet for your PR to maintain that status...you may have to check to see that you have met those requirements as well....

Amy hi

I know how you are feeling Sad I am also in the same boat. When I saw Singapore time line for Bangladesh is 22 months it broke my heart. Each and every day is suffocating. I am a single mother and got married April 2011. Sponsored him November 2011 with all proper papers and documents done. In a day I check CIC site uncountable times just to see if they have updated my file  Cry I wish the visa officer look through my application and processes it as soon as possible. Wish they understand the pain and suffering my daughter and I go thorough everyday. I wish I could beg them to let my husband come soon so we can start our family. As a minority community in Canada we Bangladeshis suffer big time to find our life partner in Canada and finally we have to go back and marry abroad. Then our life fall in to visa officers hand Sad  I pray to GOD they process all of our files as soon as possible.

Hi all,

I am new member in this forum.. and would like some guidance on how to go about with my application. I got married on Feb 9th, and my husband lives in Toronto. We did the medical and collected most of the paperworks mentioned..

However, it would be really helpful if successfull applicants could give us some tips on how to speeden up the process.. any additional information or documentation we could provide, or any type of applicants they like to approve?
