SIN for dependents of workers in Canada

Hi All

I will be joining my husband in Canada as a dependent. He is an intra-company transferee and I will be going to join him on December 11th. I needed to know when will I have to go to Service Canada for my SIN card. Am I eligible to obtain a SIN card or not?  I intend to apply for an open wp once I land there. Do I need the SIN for filing for the open WP in Canada?

You need the OWP for Service Canada to issue the SIN
