Simplified Application Process

A few friends from Jamaica over the past 2 years or so had their applicaitons processed and finalised within 8 - 12 months. I have since applied in Septemeber 2006 under the SAP and have not heard a word from CHC. Just wondered if the the new system has lengthened the process time?
