Hi all,
It's actually easier for me to find a job in the US than in Canada while being in India (a US PhD + post doc helps)  .

A hypothetical question... if I do get a job and I do move first to the US.  And then do the "landing" in Canada, will the funds in US dollars from a bank in the US be ok?  Yes, I do have the Canada PR visa and the landing papers.

People who have landed in Canada from the US will be knowing the answer to this first hand.  Any response will be highly appreciated...

best,

I did not land from US.
You can bring POF in US $  according to the requirement. At present the exchange rate is almost equal to CAD.
There is no problem at all.

Better carry US in cash, DD or TC. Some people said that a recent US bank statement will work but no one guarantees.

Bank statement may not suffice at PoE. Better to carry cash, TC or Banker's cheque. Though in most cases PoF is not asked for at PoE
