Should I go to my refugee hearing?

Hi there,
I'm Mexican. My refugee hearing is coming up next month, I know that my chance of become a refugee is very slim. Should I go to the hearing or with draw my refugge claim? I would like to apply for a work permit to stay in canada for work or apply through PNP. what are the chances of getting approved if I have a refugee claim history? Some lawyer tell me to withdraw the hearing and go back to mexico and apply work permit from there. Other lawyer told me to go to the hearing then go back apply? I'm really confused coz I know the chance of getting a work permit are very low because of this.They will charge me $2000 for the application. I knew the chances are low but I still want to give it a shot.  I would like some advice on this. Anybody know any good immigration lawyer in Vancouver?

Same answer as in another thread on this topic:  if you fail with a refugee claim, Canada will regard any subsequent application with a suspicious eye. You don't wound committed to your refugee claim, and if this is the case, better to withdraw it than fail. If you are judged to be untruthful (or exaggerating) in your refugee claim, Canada will assume that you could be equally untruthful in any other application.

I'd talk soon to Des Friedland, desfriedlandlawyer @ shaw.ca, 604-689-8228 before taking action.  But if it is a good idea to withdraw your refugee claim, the sooner the better.

I never used him as an immigration lawyer, but I had several conversations with him, and he seemed a competent, decent fellow.

Thanks for the input. I really appricated it. I think I should withdraw my hearing first.
