dear friends,

i am almost done with the docs gathering. Now its only my wife's original transcripts verification and sealing in uni envelop is expected to take good time + the PCC from my native country.I might get the transcripts and PCC by the first week of June and hopefully be able to lodge my application by the 15th of June. I just want to know that in case i lodge my application before 30th June (as the stamp on the courrier would show this) but it reaches CIO after 30th June, would it be fine or i need to make sure that it reaches CIO well before 30th June. Please guide

I think you should make sure it reaches BEFORE 30th of June. A good 4-5 days before. I will send it no later than mid June via some courier with tracking and FAST shipping.

CIO bases their dates on when your application is RECEIVED at their office, not on the date courier gets it from you.  If you do a search on courier times on the forum you will see that they often take LONGER than the company will quote (sometimes not).  I know of an India Speedpost application sent on Wednesday, noon local time, that arrived in Nova Scotia on SATURDAY when CIO was closed (unable to deliver).  Application was delivered on Monday.  They promised and delivered in 4 working days.  Compared to many other stories, this was sheer magic!  You can never know if packages will be held up at Customs (make sure you indicate on outside that package contains documents as I think that makes it faster through Customs).  I know it is extremely stressful getting the package put together, but do not waste an hour.  Use the time you have waiting for the PCC to go over the forms, line by line, do not leave anything blank, sign and date where required and make sure that all supporting docs are well organized according to the checklists.  All the best.

Agreed. It has to be received on or before 30th June at CIO to be counted towards the current ministerial instructions.

If it is received at CIO on or after 1st July it will be counted towards the next set of ministerial instructions, and since the points matrix is likely to change, and also possibly the list of eligibile occupations - it is most unwise to leave it to chance they you will be eligible!

As the above poster has said, take no chances and make sure it gets there with as much time to spare as possible. Find a good courier and get a promised delivery date from them well within the timeframe.

Best of luck!
