short term and long term staying

Hi,
i'm going to study at SFU in Burnaby (near vancouver) and my classes will be started at 5th of January. I plan to land on 26 or 27th of December. I want to have a place to stay until 1st of January and find somewhere to stay for a year. Do you have information about the rents near SFU or in more distance but near skytrain or bus stop and any short term cheap rental or hotel in the vancouver/burnaby/coquitlam?
my budget is about $750. I prefer to rent a bachelor/suite with Internet and utilities included.
